Working for a Living...

Personal Preferences...

Let's put it this way, if I owned a business (casual-type, let's say a used bookstore) and you came in for even an application in three-day old clothes, torn, you kinda smell like old food and B.O., and your hair could change the oil in my car; no, you're probably not getting hired. I have no way to believe that you could come to work clean and presentable. (this goes for both thin AND fat people).

If you have piercings or tattoos, good on ya. However, I, as a personal preference, would rather not see the inside of your nose or mouth due to gauge piercings, and I probably wouldn't hire you.

I love that with my job I can pretty much wear whatever the hell I want. Like today. I'm in a green sweater, brown tie-dyed scarf, navy maxi-skirt, navy tights, and grey boots. It's kind of funny--I seem to dress "up" more during the winter than the summer. My summer wardrobe consists of skirts and shorts and tee shirts.

That being said, I'm not going to come in from last night's party, makeup smeared to my ears, unbrushed and unwashed, and reeking of a brewery. I'd be sent home to either clean up and change, or stay home for the day. Why would you think anyone else would want to have me around? It's your workplace, folks. You have to share it with other people, and if you're working with my food, dafuq if you think I'm gonna eat there ever again. *hurk*

What do you get to wear to work?

Fashion vs Style

There are some people out there who can wear whatever they want with minimal effort. Sometimes, when I do that, it looks like I'm trying too hard.

Course, I wear things that make it seem like I don't care. Truthfully, I don't. I wear what makes me happy and what I'm comfortable in. There are some women here where I work that find it oh-so-amusing to make fun of me behind my back when what I'm wearing does not conform to their "tee shirt-jeans/yogapants/shorts-shoes" way of life.

Like today:
This is what I'm wearing. Since it's pretty normal...for anyone...I've not heard a peep.

Yesterday?
This is what I had on. Apparently, it's just TOO WEIRD. *facepalm* Really?

IMO, there's a difference between fashion and style. Fashions come and go, style is forever. Or, as the iconic Coco Chanel said: "Mode passes; style remains." Her use of the word "mode" meant A prevailing fashion, custom, practice, or style, esp. one characteristic of a particular place or period. For me, it means fashion is the clothing of the time, style is how you put it together. My style of the day's fashion is my own. :)

What is your comfort zone as far as your outfits go? Are you tried and true classic? Or do you embrace anything that appeals to you?

Hi there!

Hi there. It's me again.

You know. Ms Dreamer. But I'm changing it up.

I am GOING to take photos.
I am GOING to blog.
I am GOING to get people to read/watch/do whatever.
I'm going to set up a place to linky videos on whatever the heck I feel like.

Could be fashion.
Could be politics.
Could be spiritual beliefs.
Could be vape stuff.

Like the title says: "Flighty".
I'm never sure of what I'd like to do or talk about.

Or even drink, half the time.

But I'm going to make a go of this. Just because I have things to say.

Smooches~
